I have a 12000lb Iroman winch which is now 8 years old and still going strong. The cable is now a bit the worse for wear and I have just brought a replacement rope. Had an issue after 4 years but Ironman fixed under warranty even though their warranty is 3 years. When I brought it, it was a third of the price of a Warn and I figured if I had to replace it every 3 years I would still end up in front.
Well, at 8 years I am
miles in front and laughing. Also buying an Ironman it is not much extra to get a 12,000lb winch and I always say bigger is better. Ironman standby their products and are great to deal with. I dealt with their head office which is now in Dandenong in Vic.
My
suspension is all Lovells and I am very happy with them also for what its worth.

HI Idler Chris, I'm hearing you on the Ironman. I have not read too much negative comments about them at all, and I see they came 4th in a Top 10 shoot out in 4WD mag. I will look into the Lovells gear and also Ultimate
Suspension has also been recommended.
Thank you for your input, Cheers Jez.

Hi peteC, thanks for the tip on the Runva. Visited website and they look to be a good unit. I'll ring and talk to them tomorrow out of curiosity, Cheers.

Have a look on Newhilux about
suspension options and reviews
A number of owners have not been happy with the OME kits on them. I found them too soft and boaty myself

Hi AlbyNSW, I feel the OME is just a commercial product that has flooded the market so there is plenty of good & bad
feedback.
I have looked at Newhilux and the recommendations seem to be Lovells or Bilstein. Thanks for your suggestion, it has helped. Regards, Jez

Jez I ran Bilsteins on my Hilux and I wouldn't do it again in hindsight
They were sensational onroad but we're too firm offroad. The OME were too soft onroad but comfortable on heavy corrugations etc
The Ultimate
Suspension would be my pick, I have it on my Lancruiser and a mate replaced his OME with Ultimate on his Hilux and it is great

X 3 for The Ultimate
Suspension. Loved what they did for my Prado and going back to them for the BT50.

Replaced my OME kit for ulitmate
suspension (2007 Prado towing camper) for GRR and
Mitchell Plateau. Will fit to my 100 series soon.
Very impressed.

Dobinson lift kit on my Isuzu. Can't recommend it. Harsh rear, front rebound damping way underdone. I'm in deep and meaningful discussion with the firm that fitted it. Dobinson has admitted that the rear spring is too stiff.

Dobinsons usually ask how much weight you carry in the vehicle and then make a suggestion on the 'stiffness' needed. If you overstate it you'll get a stiff rear end(haha). So talk to them about your real world requirements. They work
well on the troopy front coils, rear leafs and a big bonus is that there made in Australia.
Cheers

Yes
same ultimate..
you honestly cant have 100% perfect deliveries or correct product sent for vehicle.
just took them a week to sort it out from their end.
but kindly got the
young bloke to deliver and assist to put
the springs in.
I thanked him for making the special trip and that id be fine putting them in on my own.
just that the car nearly sat on a hoist for a week.
1hr north of
sydney.
id use ultimate again no worries.
great product, just that I must have got them on a bad bad...week
cheers
