I've been looking for some notes on Rudall River NP for some friends who are planning a trip in May, but as yet am unable to find any.

I have the CALM info but little else at this stage other than my own reasonably limited knowledge of the area.
Am I missing something ?
Does anyone else have any info that they could link me to or send me?
cheers

I am fairly comfortable with just heading out there as we've been all around Rudall - just not actually in it. Others wanted mud maps etc. but as I have NW Desert Maps etc I think we'll be fine.
It's bitumen all the way to Telfer nowadays and we've been to Carawine over & over so I know that side of the route. I've also done Kidson track twice (sort of), just not Rudall itself.
thanks

Hate to disapoint you Coops , but its not all bitumen to Telfer . Dirt starts when you turn off the Rippen Hills rd . From what the escort cops told us last year , thay are going to leave it sit for 2 years or so to see where the water lays soas thay can build the rd up so no water will lay on it befor thay lay the blacktop . I think thay mite know now after Monty . So i expet thay will be working on it again this dry season . I also think there mite be a push to blacktop the rd south to Newman from Marbel bar from what i heard last year . Have you heard anything about that ? Cheers .

Get a copy of Australian Geographic No 48 Oct/Dec 1997. Back copies should be available? 23 pages of info and photos including a map.

The Hema map should give enough data - just keep to the main tracks a you can't go wrong ?

Last week I posted some info to a query about Anthiil track - do a search - the info gives details ? of my trip to Rudall from Nullagine.

Coops

Go and have a yarn with Chris Ferris at Dingo's Oasis Backpackers in Port Hedland (I believe you live there??). He does tours and took Ernie Dingo out there last year. It was featured on GWN's 'Getaway' show.

He's a mate of mine, tell him I sent you.
