Comment: The Pilbara - The Magnificent Hamersley Ranges and Wittenoom (Hamersle

Hi Mick, good country there. I worked in Tom Price 82-88 and explored a lot of that area. When I was a member of the Tom Price 4 Wheel Drive Club we did a trip up Bee Gorge and came out Wittenoom Gorge, I had my first 4wd a shorty forty. We used to go down Weano Gorge and then climb down beside the waterfall into Hancock Gorge. The Wittenoom Races were a hoot in the 80's.
Cheers

Mate we may have passed at the bar at the Wittenoom Balll, 1985. What an amazing night that was. Those were the days. We used to get Pay cheques as I recall so your entire life revolved around finding a town with a green phone booth to ring home and make sure the cheque had been deposited and the Bankcard payed off lol. (We carried bags of 20c pieces) bleep who remembers 'B'ankcard anymore lol. Mate I've done the catwalks in Bee Gorge both east and west and they are not what you remember,. The eastern catwalk is now a death zone, even on a quad. You'll love the blog on the Bee Gorge Quad expedition.

Thanks for the words. Memories of times and places long gone are GOLD my friend. Cheers Mick
