Rick's plan sounds good, but i reckon you need to spend a couple of slack days here and there just to recover from the continual driving. Two places around the day 8 - stay at Mount Ive station and have a nosy around the countryside and further along the track from Mount Ive is Pondanna Outstation. This has been restored by local volunteers and is on the places you can stay comfortably. Google it and see. And yes i am a bit biased to both these spots.

Yeah, nice itinerary from Rick, though you could spend more time from Mt Ive to explore the Gawler Ranges, and maybe skip Canunda . . . it is beaut driving, but within easy striking distance from Melb, so you could do a quick week there another time and explore more when you are a longer way into SA from home.

Im not sure how much Driving your keen to do however I would recomend getting out to Uluru the heading west along the Great Central Rd and down the Connie Sue Highway. We did the Connie Sue last year and loved it!

I live 230km West of Uluru so if you do plan to get out that way. Please get in contact if you need any advice.
