Kakadu opening early this year.

Due to a poor wet season most places will open early this year, for example Koolpin gorge, 2 mile hole, the old Jim Jim road, Ubirr are open already.

They have started Croc surveys at Jim Jim falls and it won't be long before they are open, Gunlom will be open on the 10 of May after the last 11 km of road has been completely re built and the park is getting a significant spruce up including all the facilities at Gunlom and a 2 million dollar signage up grade.

Check out this site Kakadu road report for up to date info on areas opening in the park.

So come to Kakadu you won't regret it.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the update - we're planning on visiting early June including a trip up to Coboug Peninsula.
Still waiting for the issuing of our permits for Koolpin & Graveside Gorge - we're been placed on the "waitlist" so hopefully we'll get confirmation before we start heading up there.
Really looking forward to Kakadu & Arnhem Land, would be interested in your opinion of the best places to visit & camp.

Cheers, Geoff

Hi Geoff, Don't miss Ubirr late in the afternoon and watch the sun set.

Also at Cahil'sl Crossing take the Guluyambi cruise it's better and cheaper the the yellow Waters cruises.
