Hey all,

We would like to move the bullbar from a Nissan Pathfinder 1997 to a Nissan Pahtfinder 2001. At the moment we can't find anyone who would like to help us.
The garage in our town send us to 'Fast Fit Bullbar', and we phoned them and they don't even want to have a look. Although they advertise that they are speciallised in bullbars and fittings, they don't even wanna look at our cars...
They also can't send us to someone else, as they say that no one will help us...

We would like to try it ourselves, but unfortunately we don't have space in the street to take off the bullbar...

So anyone that know a mechanic around Sydney that might wanna help us out?
Or at least have a look at it?
Or anyone here wo want to help us fiddling around with our bullbar? :)

We travelled from Belgium to South Africa with our Toyota Landcruiser, so we're quite handy with tools :)

Thanks!
Eef and Dries

Where in Sydney would you prefer? It's a big place 100 Kms top to bottom.

Firstly do both have airbags or just the newer one

If so DONT put the old bar on as its probably not airbag compliant.

If design of new vehicle is different to old one will probably cost more than its worth to try to modify it and it would probably be non compliant and possibly illegal.

Look for a second hand one. The days of fitting DIY or adaptations are gone with all the ADR rules and compliance issues.

Very sound advice from TomH.

Your bulbar is designed to protect you. Don't let saving a few bucks on a new one cost your life.

Thanks for your replies.

1. We live in Ashfield, but happy to drive around :)

2. Both cars have airbags

Do you guys think it wont be worth trying?

It's not that we don't want to be unsafe and not get a new bullbar, but just because we have a very nice one on the old one, we just thought that we might be able to move it to the new car...

Thanks for your help!
