Hi, We are looking to buy a Gazel Offroad Caravan as above and want to know if anyone else has bought one and how they fare. It seems very
well made - and we are heading round Australia. Any experiences from "gazel" owners - good or bad....?

Thanks Slydog. This is a 1999 model and has a "hard top verandah cantilever thing that fits over the back and covers the back door which is pretty cool as thoretically it should stop the red dust getting in the back - is your dads the same...?

We had a Gazel Infinity offroad for over 2 years. Very pleased with its performance. Only drawback was tow ball weight and wind when you have rear awning lifted. toured Queensland Coast, NSW and took it to Tassi. Sold it as we want to travel a little lighter. Pajero Nm DiD did
well with it.

Hi Ally and Jim,
Not sure if you are familiar with Thommo, (The
camp oven
cook guy on TV) I caught one of his
home movies on channel 31 which was titled "
Cape York Torture Test" where he towed one of these vans to the cape and back. It was filmed in Oct 1996 pre Wenlock River bridge, which they had to get towed through by a vehicle on the other side due to about 4 foot of water running through. They give the van a good
test and it seemed to handle the conditions OK. I think back then though it was early days in off-road caravan design.

Nearly bought one once back in 1999, but I went elsewere, most owners seem happy enough but I think Gazel has gone out of business and Kedron started up. Some spares available from Kedron I think.
