Hello All,
Is it possible to get a external antenna for a Garmin ETrex. Someone mentioned that you can get a antenna that does not hook up to the unit but is suppose to help with the reception... Not sure on this..

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Mark

They recogmend that you only use it if you have reception problems!

I bought one from GPS-OZ at the Sydney 4WD show for $135 - it is a re-radiating one and works well.

I've heard reports that the re-radiating RA-45 is good. Being active (powered) it should throw a good signal into the cab....Lowrance sell a passive unit (no boost)as an accessory for certain of their models at around $300 !! Reckon I know which one I'd try.

I have a re- rad antenna for my garmin etrex vista as I have a heated windscreen that stops almost all my reception to the gps The re-rad antenna was the best £25 Ihave spent on it.
