We have a 12' alum. dinghy that we want to take on top of the Nissan Patrol - as both of us are in our 60s we want something easy and reliable.

What are the best boat loaders on the market - a number of people we've spoken too said the Rhinos are a bit light and bend when loading - and cost pretty high. Are there any other makes/models and if so cost and recomendations.

All advise much appreciated as we're looking at leaving in October towing a 21' caravan

I have had a Rhino boat loader for 3 years, never had a problem and I find them easy to use.
Not sure what they mean by "a bit light and bend" I never had that problem with my 12 foot aluminium dingy.
Cost me $1900 supplied and fitted, bet investment I made.
I can load and lower the boat by myself which would otherwise take 4 men to do.
I have noticed that other boat loaders have come on the market but I still think the Rhino is the best.
Good luck
Cheers
George

Bill n Di,
Have a look at this loader,
Freestyle
Saw them at the Rosehill 4b show in Sydney. Seems to be simple and easy - $660 from memory

The Sampson uses a 3.1 winch and also plenty of room for a mesh basket between cross members

Thanks for the replies - do any have storage space / a roof rack area to put ropes/fuels tank etc?
Do they use a winch or do you have some sort of lifting mechanisim?

This is all new to us so appreciate your patience!
