Planning is under way for a weekend camping by the mighty Murray just downstream from Berri. Can camp on private property at cost of $10/day/vehicle and no facilities but nice spot or in Kateraptko National Park with dunnies at least for about the same cost. Who is interested in coming up/over/down for a few days.
Will do a drive into Sunset National Park on the Sunday and up to the old Customs House on the SA/NSW?Vic border on Sat afternoon if your there in time.
Let me know if your interested.

G'day Eric, not overly keen on cold weather. Prefer to have a decent fire burning if the temp drops too much. Forecast is for 2 here tonight. brrr

Eric, we could stay in the hut up top of Mt Skene if your really keen, open fire place the works.. but remember its just a hut, got some sweet photos of the place on my page (the one on front page is top of Skene,) just doing another page of our Mt Skene Trip stayin at Woods Point pub, that was a SERIOUS weekend.... the winch got a real workout...

We are doing 5 trips up the snow this yr with the club and probably a few with this group like last yr, HEY DIAMOND AND GARY (no luke he sold his Mav!)...

Doing High country not this but following weekend

Then July VERY VERY rough outline

Day 1
Warburton -> To Big River Rd - > Hope Track up the side of Mt Terrible -> to helipad for smoko....
Then Mt Terrible Track, then have lunch at summit (the reason for not plannin much, they had knee/waist deep snow last time, took hours to clear fallen trees!) lunch, ->> Eildon -> Jamieson for night stop..

Day 2
Either Mt Skene over to Licola, depending on the snow
or woods point road out, matlock aberfeldy out at walhalla...

Looks a fun lot of trips, Eric, Des and Truckster. Not sure of June movements yet. It looks another time of do I turn left or right at the gate. I need some better tyres for the mountains though which may make it more a cashflow item and I would turn left.......... for the flat

We are interested - should have a prize for the people that come from farthest away. Maybe a tin of Willem's almonds. Maybe a bottle of Banrock Station sparking shiraz or howabout a free Exploroz renewal or membership! (Sorry David and Michelle). Wouldn't it be great if some of those West Ozzies or Queenslanders or NSW-ers came.

I am happy to camp anywhere though the private land thing sounds pricey for nothing so it would want to be special. Jen was thinking it was a bit far away for three days so we are taking a couple more.

Cheers

Andrew

Some of the YP4WD club will be there, but Mr and Mrs Pesty will be 24hrs late due to commitments beyond their control ! See you late Sat. night.
I vote the private place for gear security when absent.

I'll second Pesty's thoughts.

A place where there is plenty of firewood. If it is getting down that low then we are going to need plenty of coals!!!!!

Look forward to it.

Put us down as a 95% definite Al, have bbeen to Kataratpko so wouldnt mind the private property. Either really. The sites are marked out at Kataratpko so it would be difficult to be together as a group.

Cheers Peter and Lez
