Hi all,
Thought I would pass on some info in regards to a problem we had with our series2 3.0L patrol.
Just befor the warrenty ran out in jan 04 we had an intermittant problem with lack of power under 2700 rpm. Took it to nissan dealer in NW
Sydney and they could find no problems.
Over the last couple of months the problem became more regular untill no power under or over 2700rpm. Carried out the diagnostic and it came up with airflow sensor and turbo pressure sensor.
Rang Nissan (NW
Sydney) and was given a price of $865.30 (part no 22680-AD201) for the airflow sensor which is the complete housing assy. Was told that you cant buy the airflow sensor by its self.
Rang Nissan dealer in SW
Sydney and was given a price of $243.40 for part No 22680-AD210 which is just the sensor.
Booked car in to NW nissan as they couldn"t find the fault in jan and if they confirmed it was just the airflow sensor than I would get one from the other dealer.
Long story short they replaced the air flow sensor free of charged (funny they used part no 22680-AD210) and replaced the non genuine air filter I had fitted as it wasnt sealing properly. With the non genuine ail filter they use the same foam for both the top and bottom sealing ring and it is too soft which allows the filter to drop down in the housing.
All up the total cost was $25.00 for the new filter and the patrols going like new.
Regards

Bob,
What type of air filter were you using that wasn't sealing properly?
