Bourke to Wanaaring to Wilcannia

Hi all, has anyone been on the road from Bourke to Wanaaring and down to Wilcannia lately and can give me a road condition update? I'm hoping to head that way later in the week.

Many thanks, Gary M.

Hi Gary when you head out that way check out my stolen STOLEN TOYOTA LANDCRUISER post and check out the wagga wagga lac police page on face book

the guys father and son shot at police just out side of wagga on friday to avoid police and looks like they have stolen this vehicle and they will be using back roads around NSW to get out of the state I would say

some of the ones you will be on

with luck they will find them but they have been on the run for 8 years and done a lot of damage in NSW Queensland and some Victoria

There is currrantly a maor operation under way Stirke Force Kalkadoon if you need futher information

Gday
I went on those roads late last year and found them to be well kept main dirt roads.

As always, get a report the day before you commit to see if there's been closure or restriction due to rain.

Also as always, road conditions degrade since the last time a grader went through. What was good last month can be rubbish tomorrow.

Up that way local councils put access changes up on their websites. (The statewide map is poor in my view and not worth consulting). For links see the road conditions section of this website.

We did the full Darling run in August and it was great. The roads were all in good condition with the exception of a few ruts which run across the track to drain water. These can be quite deep and because of the colour of the dirt they very hard to spot. Take care and remember to lower tyre pressures a bit and it will be a great journey.

Many thanks, we struck similar ruts a while back last time we were up that way. Heading off soon.

Cheers, Gary M.
