Looking to do the "Western Butterfly Leg" from Adelaide leaving end of March. Trip will travel Stuart Highway to the North and Nullabor to the West. Trying to decide clockwise or anti-clockwise. Prado Towing an aVan Cruiser. Any experiential factors to consider would be great :)
Cheers,
Garry.

Meant to add, trip is 5 months, so climate is a factor.

Garry, I would normally suggest the following, to the North first, then West coast, as the weather gets better you will be in the South of West Aus then home across the Nullabor with the wind at your back, but leaving that early I will suggest the other way, over to the West first and as the weather changes you will be in the North, then a quick run down the centre as it will be very cold by then............ Have a great trip what ever way you go...............

That time of the year I,d go west first still good weather then north as it chills off in the south and of course down the centre home .

Definitely that way (clockwise) for the indicated time window. Lower part of WA is having its rainiest times in J/J/A and these are the best months for central and northern Oz. The only downside as Pedro pointed out is the potential for westerly headwinds on the Nullarboring, but they seem to be worst in the Perth wet months anyway.
