Hi all, just wondering if anyone else is having trouble loading Mud Map 3 to a smart phone?
I've run MM2 for a while and found it quite good but can only download a few central Australian maps on MM3 after which I understand one has to click on an area outside one of the downloaded maps to download adjacent maps. Presumably one has to do this repeatedly to get the whole of the country covered.

I'm not happy with this scenario and have asked for my $s back.

Any one else having issues??

Thanks, Gary M.

Can't help with your issue mate. I've had mud map 1 - very happy with. Then upgraded or downgraded which ever way you want to look at it to mud map 2. The fact you need Internet service to use the navigation tool is terrible.

I won't be finding out about mm3.

They also seem to keep updating their models and don't support the previous edition. So you have to keep buying the next edition.

Thanks Shane, I'd stick with MM2.

Gary, check out 4wd Action, myswag and 4x4earth forums, they are littered with people with owner complaints about Mud Map issues, lack of support and abandoning previous version users.

Every release seems to be incompatible with the previous version and apart from having to pay $150 for the new version ( less a 20% discount for upgrading) the old maps won't work in the new version and you have to buy new maps. That works out to about $150 a year without buying any maps.

After pushing their "the project" which was the otherwise free Open Street Maps, they have now dumped that too.

They are well known for their antics and I would strongly encourage people to look at alternatives such as Oziexplorer on Android, Memory Map on Android, Windows or Ipad, or Hema 4wd on Ipad ( which is really Memory Map)

Thanks Boobook, might refer my concerns to ACCC with a copy to Mud Map, that might stir them up a bit.

I read somewhere that if upgrading from MM2 to MM3, you email them the iTunes receipt and they will somehow give you access to all the other maps for download.

I believe that only applies to Westprint maps. The map isn't supported in MM3.

Nah mate, a new update came out this week and has a bulk map download feature like in Mud Map 2.
