Material on Facebook has advised that
well known blogger and ExplorOz contributor Heather MG lost her life's partner
John on 15th November. A funeral notice is in their local paper today, I believe.
Many ExplorOz readers will know that Heather and
John only recently returned from an extensive trip to the West, which she has recorded in her inimitable blogging style.
I'm sure that all ExplorOz members and users will join in offering our most sincere condolences and sympathies to Heather at this very difficult time.
In sympathy,
KevinS

Heather, our thoughts are with you and your family at this time.
It is always difficult to find the right words to convey true meaning when faced with the loss of a loved one...
But perhaps the following gives us hope in the cycle of life, and death...
"Our death is not an end if we can live on in our children and the younger generation. For they are us, our bodies are only wilted leaves on the tree of life." Albert Einstein
Take care of yourself...

Thank you to all of you for your messages. I, and my family were so moved by them.
John's death was sudden and unexpected and we are taking comfort in the knowledge that he did not suffer however it will take a long time for us to recover and not feel that this is some kind of nightmare. We chose to spend most of our time together, and despite almost 44 years of married life together, still enjoyed one another's company. Our four grown children and their partners have been and are a wonderful support.I'm not sure how i could cope by myself.
I have so many wonderful memories, particularly of our most recent trip to the West when we discovered
Pardoo Station in the East
Pilbara. We spent a fantastic month there, fished together most days with great success, and had planned to return for three months next year.
Obviously my life will change enormously and it seems as though traveling with the caravan is not possible so I am going to regretfully have to sell it, just when we had finally found the perfect van and had sorted any issues with it. However I do not plan to stop exploring and I know
John will be with me....
thanks again,
Heather
