Pardoo station is a working station that is between the highway and the beach. It has a camping ground and caravan park on the station with 4x4 access to the beach and Pardoo Creek. The beach is very tidal and not really suitable for swimming. There have been unconfirmed crocodile sitings on the coast.
The park is well set up for caravans, however there is little shade for most sites. There is a pool and most other facilities such as
camp kitchen etc. There are also rooms available. Unpowered camping is pretty unsophisticated with a "pick a spot between the tamarisks" approach which was refreshing.
The
camp area is run by the station staff and they were very friendly with mud maps of the
beach access roads etc available and tide charts on request. There is a small
shop in the reception area of the
camp ground that is open a few hours a day and stocks fishing gear and some alcohol etc.
