Hi, I am looking at doing a 6wk trip from
Sydney to
Rockhampton via Dubbo,
Walgett,
Roma,
Emerald and then
home vis the coast. I mainly wish to stay in Nat. Parks. I have done a quick search and it seems most Qld parks require permits /fees of some description. Does anyone know of a central contact point at Qld Nat Parks for these permits and maps etc or will I have to contact each individual park's contact seperately??
Thanks,
Dave

There is a national park at
byfield north of yeppon (near
rockhampton) that is worth a visit (esp if you like sand driving). There is much better camping at the nearby
state forest (easy gravel road) which is
well worth a visit. Contact the Qld Dept of Natural Resources for bookings

On your way from NSW to Qld there's nice
camp ground at the Warrumbungle NP near Coonabarabran. Some good walks in the bush from there as
well.
enjoy

Check out the Blackdown Tablelands NP between
Rockhampton and
Emerald - great spot. Did you think about
Carnarvon NP? Enjoy your trip.
