I spotted this article in today’s Sydney Morning Herald and I must say the headline did give me a bit of a chuckle – having owned three ‘Fenders over the years there was no such thing as a “quick spin”.

Oh, here we go, Mrs Landy is chirping in with an “I’ll second that”…

Landrover Defender 110 Adventure "quick spin"

Enjoy the read…

I'm a Land Rover man but the Defender is just no fun to even sit in let alone drive. A nice new D4 with some bits and pieces would do me nicely thanks.

Hang on a minute Michael!, No Fun??, Iv'e had one for eighteen years as a work vehicle, and have had all the fun in the world,Like the other day coming down the freeway at 100k and the windscreen was that fogged up in the pouring rain because the heater died,so had the head out the window to see where I was, That was Fun!!, Like the time I was going up a hill with a line of traffic behind me and the alternater departed its mounting went thru the radiator and got tangled up with the serpentine belt, that was fun!, and the day I had 1;5ton on and blew a front brake hose going down into mooney on the central coast, aged ten years after that one ,but all good fun!. and the time I was towing a caravan up Victoria Pass on the Blue mountains and the plastic cap on the radiator let go, couldn't stop straight away, and when I got the chance to she had more steam coming out than a 3801 Locomotive...lol,..Landrover Deefers don't talk to me about them!, But would I sell it ?..No Way,....Its sent me bonkers, and that's the way it is,. This rough ride everyone talks about with deefers has me puzzled, coil springs all round what more do you want?...anyway could go on for hrs,....so better get going , off to the back specialist

Cheers Axle.

D4 any day. Had one now for 4 years and 120000km and still the most comfortable, reliable and pleasant to drive car I have ever had.
