the patrol 3 litre turbo diesel gets approx 11litres for 100km, can anyone confirm that the 78 series 4.2 diesel turbo diesel gets 14 litres for 100km. This is an average of country and city driving.

Wish I got 11 litres/100kms!!!

Best i've had is 11.3 and typically 12.0 for a mix of city and freeway driving. Haven't had a country run without the van, but typically get 15.7 l/100km when towing 1.6T at 100km/hr.

Cheers

Im in love with the 78 series turbo diesel, but love is blind. I want to make sure im not getting bent over and have the dealer whisper torque figures into my ear, all the time preparing me for sales shaft.

Truckster your web site talks about the fact that you were actually looking for a Troopie and only bought the Nissan because it was cheap.

True or False ?

Sort of, I was lookin for the room of a troopy, They were the 2 cars, Troopy or GQ..

Then since I only have 1 foot that works from my accident, I had to go with an Auto... Havent seen an Auto Troopy.

The events that lead to buyin the Truckster

9am 24th Dec: wife goes to get xmas presents off Layby.
1150am same day, pulls out of carpark rams the car Car is fubar - insurance runs out that afternoon 4pm, scored well
car fubar NEED NEW CAR for Xmas new yrs.
4pm Look in paper see GQ Ti Forsale, 25th Go look at 26th buy it. Since then couldnt be happier. Glad I got it over a troopy, could never have done half thebleepwe have in a troopy over the GQ.

Hi people
Just thought I'd put my two bobs worth in. Our 98 300Tdi disco gets 11.5 L/100k towing camper on a trip if I dont get on its case. And thats with no electronics in the fuel system to stuff up.
Question. are the 3L nissan's common rail injection???
Cheers, BP
