Andrew - I trust the Landcruiser is out of warranty? If not, it promptly will be when Toyota find that pic!! LOL

Let me see ... Cat 216B skid-steer ... 2600kgs?
Auger attachment ............................. 700kgs?
Gooseneck trailer tare ...................... 1600kgs?
Tandem trailer tare .............................. 900kgs?
Oxy bottles, spares, mixer, whatever
else is inside the trailer canopy ........... 700kgs?
Landcruiser traytop with extras ......... 2200kgs?

GROSS WEIGHT .............................. 8700kgs?

Fuel consumption ... about 5kms to the litre .. like my Isuzu truck ... LOL

Cheers, Ron.

L/C and gooseneck I have weighed 8.8 ton with skid steer with Munro post driver etc
Camp trailer is about 2 ton. Has 200 Ltr of water, 110 Ltr waeco fridge food for three men and Honda welder etc.
Used 42 Ltr per 100 k. The road was very soft and sandy.

L/C now has an easier life.

Aaaahh! I wasn't too far out! You kept quiet about the welder and water, though! LOL

I thought the Skidsteer attachment was an auger, bit hard to see exactly. Being a post driver sends the weight up a fair bit.

It's amazing what 4WD's can pull, once you get it all rolling. In another post, I mentioned how, back about 1967 or '68, our old Series 2 petrol traytop Landrover, pulled our old International R190 prime mover and low loader, loaded up with one of our Cat D6's, off the gravel road and into a paddock (about a km), when the old Inter snapped an axle. The truck and float and dozer weighed around 30 tons all up.

Cheers, Ron.

How good are you at lining the trailer up over the job? Wouldn't need to unload the cat then ;)
We tow a husky 5/8 about with the ranger - nobody wants to know about the canter anymore unless they have a load to shift.

Wouldn't have a clue about the weight, especially as you had the welder hidden! :-) But tend to side with Ron about the fuel use @ 5km/L.

Don't mind being wrong........

These V8's can be real Jekyll 'n Hydes with fuel usage. Have got over 600kms out of one tank numerous times, even doing the Rig Road last October. But give them a headwind, at 110 clicks plus, and fuel gauge falls like a stone!

You are right Bob with wind affecting fuel usage.
I towed a exploration caravan down from Glendambo it was heavy and square we had strong head wind had to change tanks before Pt Augusta 286 km.
