Thinking about buying the hillbilly hotplate and grill that folds in half and has removable legs..
Just wanting people's feedback on this gear??

Also wondering what the canvas bags are like that you can buy as well?? They look good but very hard to tell from the limited pics available of their products.

Wouldn't mind the 30cm fry pan as well.

Thoughts folks?? Thanks.

Just brought the 30 odd cm paella pan, and plate for 2 burner gas stove with the legs, in case we want to use it on a fire. Legs are heavy duty. The paella pan is great, quite deep, which we like. The canvas bags are very good quality too. The pan does a great job, haven't used the hot plate yet.. It's all great gear.. Happy shopping. Cheers Odog

Hi Odog -
I am also considering the hotplate for 2/3 burner stove as we don't very often use a grill and don't really see the need.
I know you said you haven't used it yet but wondering how you think it'll hold up over a fire?? I probably wouldn't use it over a gas stove - solely for fire use and on their website it doesn't seem to look as heavy duty as the other fire models.
Many thanks.

I have been a happy user of Hillbilly gear for many years.

Don't have the Hotplate & grill but I am extremely happy with my Hillbilly Bush King Camp Oven and accessories, which are kept in the excellent Canvas camp oven bag.

Also have two folding Hillbilly frypans.
You could do a lot worse than buy Hillbilly gear.

Hey guys thanks heaps for the replies. The pictures look awesome.

Just wondering if the canvas bags for the hotplates actually close up?? From the pictures on their website it just looks as though they are open ended???

The 2 burner bbq plate, looks the goods, wouldn't put it over high heat, or leave it on the heat after finishing cooking, wouldn't do it with any plate actually.
Wanted a bbq plate, but nothing that was to heavy, we have a great one, but it's pretty solid and heavy.
The hillbilly is about 3mm thick sheet, and folded edges, which gives it the strength, as long as not thrown on a raging fire, shouldn't warp.. Can't wait to use it.
I rang Mick at HB, he had the canvas cover, think which was off another product, but said it would fit it ok, so got that as well as a cover for the paenella pan. Very good to deal with.. Enjoy! Cheers

Hey Ben
It is worth the coin for sure. Strong but lighweight, cooks great, cleans easy and canvas bags are awesome.

Cheers
