Have you also considered joining a local 4WD club in your area as a way of meeting touring partners?

The advantages of these includes meeting like minded people, 4WD training in your own vehicle, organised club trips in your area etc.

Unfortunately, most also charge membership fees with compulsory meeting attendance and you can't always choose who else is in the club or on the trip.

If you Google 4 Whel Drive Clubs Sydney, that will give you a start.

I'm in two clubs in Sydney and meeting attendance isn't compulsory in either. It is a great idea as the trips and training sessions in both clubs are A1. You can't go wrong for around $100 a year.

There is also a CamperTrailer group that have good get togethers. No meetings, except at gatherings.
