Hi. I like the look of the device, but I was wondering if the offroad mapping is still based off Oziexplorer? I want to be able to use my oziexplorer maps, waypoints and routes.

Hi Tony&Jac, the HX-1 has a proprietary Android system and I believe the off-road navigation function is based on their Hema Explorer App. If you want to have access to OziExplorer, you may be better going with a Hema Navigator 7, these are available at a really great price at the moment (particularly the EOTopo Edition). If you require any further assistance or information at all, please just let me know.

The HX-1 does not have FM connectivity.
A feature I use frequently with Igo street navigation with HN5i.

Hi Trouper
My HN5i can transmit street directions to a vacant FM channel on the car radio.
The audio is clear and in a vehicle with poor soundproofing ie. 79 series ute it is great.
The HN5i speaker is poor and barely audible in city traffic.
However I think the HX-1 has an earphone jack so ipod earpods may be the option

As Adele posted the HX-1 has a proprietary Android system you cant use Oziexplorer maps but you should be able to import your Ozi Waypoint after you converted them to a .gpx . Looking into my Galaxy Tab directory files on the Hema explorer app, you cant even see the map files as they are hidden useless your Tab is rooted and use a particular file explorer.
