Dog was lucky it didnt have its guts ripped out. Reckon the bloke was worried about that and thats why he jumped in quick smart. Video looks real enough. Nice punch too!!

Punch wouldn't have bothered the roo much. Probably surprised it into confusion.

Poor little dog must have been sitting quietly around the picnic basket when this savage dog-eating kangaroo bounded out of the bush and grabbed it around
the neck. Instant karma at work again.

Hi Al
It was crazy for that guy to turn his back on the roo. A roo that size could have easily turned to attac him.
There have been a few case here in SA over the years when a startled roo or big bucks like that will stand their ground and have inflicted serious injury on humans.
Cheers
Stephen

Because they have different
views to you on animal protection?
The RSPCA is doing what most would expect them to do. Very much doubt there will be any more than a public tut tut. His employer has basically done the same - "we don't condone such things but he won't be losing his job". Nor should he on what we've seen, and I think they'd know how he handles animals better than the public.
Put most of the bad reaction down to lack of context provided by "the press" and the usual half-baked hysteria on the social media which often boils down to a lot of noise by not very many.

I think the roo was protecting itself from the dogs.
The dogs should have been kept under better control.
I think the roo is the victim here.

Having had neighbour dogs chase roo's and been witness to them forcing the roo into the river. The roo go into the water deep enough for the dogs to need to swim and it then pulls the dogs under with it's hind legs which grip firmly into the collars. Took awhile for the neighbor to realize that without intervention his dogs would have been drowned.
Cheers Kev

Bit of a city slicker myself, but "out" bush, I think a lot of blokes have cages on their utes for "hunting" dogs. Seems some people these days still go pig hunting ???
Some may even go roo shooting too ???
Anyway, I thought the video was hilarious !!

Yep, nothing like it is there Bob, but while where at it why not include Knobs that spend 99 % of there time in the city and have a bulbar, or maxtrax nice and shiny next to the shovel that looks you look like a MAN. For that matter why do you bother with a winch when the majority go everywhere with the rest of the
population. That is being a bit flippant I know but hey that is the theme so far
It is a lifestyle choice the funny thing is anyone I know that has hunting dogs goes hunting and for you, me and the rest of the
population those cages are a useful accessory .
As an aside since when has it become illegal to hunt.

Gronk,
As far as I can see a bunch of guys and dogs were out hunting. They were hunting dogs that were attacking the roo. The roo was defending itself. The jackass got upset when his puppy was about to be gutted.
Am I wrong?
Hard cheese one of them had cancer. It's no excuse for cruelty to protected native fauna.

Yes Bob you are wrong In the original story it says the dogs were trained to ignore and not bother Roos. Unfortunately that one got to close going past it and the roo grabbed it
No one was being cruel Would you rather the roo ripped the dogs guts out and that would have been OK
Wait till you get cancer. The pig hunt was organised for a 19 year old who was dieing and expressed a wish to go pig hunting. A bunch of guys took him out and were videoing it to make a DVD for him and his family.
Shame about the kid He died shortly after. Thanks for your sympathy

Hey Tom,
I've had cancer twice (malignant melanoma and bowel cancer) and luckily survived. That doesn't give me the right to go out and attack kangaroos. Do you really believe the roo chased the dogs?
C/T, Over many years you've proven yourself to be a serial '

Bigfish (small d-ck),
I don't live in the city.
I'd rather a hunting dog gutted any day in preference to a roo being chased by dogs owned by smalled d-cked twerps who think 'hunting' native fauna is OK.
I've had hundreds of roos happily living on my land, and will defend their right to an unmolested existence from the likes of you or the pathetic fool who allowed his dogs to chase the roo in the video.
Bob
PS The reference to cancer was invited by Ton H who said "wait till you get cancer"

The clown boxing the roo is an animal keeper at the Zoo at Dubbo. It suits him .. Dubbo by name and dubbo by nature. His employers are looking at the video but he is obviously a fool for posting it in the first place.

Bigfish, if the dog's owner were such a hero he wouldn't take them out into the bush and expose them to the vicious wildlife. I'd happily shoot his dog to spare it any suffering.

One small point you may have missed HE DIDNT POST IT His friends did.
It was a clip off a DVD done for the 19year old cancer sufferer who had expressed a desire to hunt a pig before he died.
During the hunt one of the dogs, which were trained not to bother roos got too close to that one and got grabbed. Guy just whacked it to get the dog released. Was a kneejerk reaction (Like a lot of the incorrect assumptive posts on here).
Incidentally the
young guy died two weeks ago and the DVD was made for his wife and family in his memory.
A read of the original article would benefit a few who have commented unfairly.

I reckon that boomer Buck roo has had a good day out to tell his mates
was more than a fair fight
he owned that dog then like any good pub brawl dogs mates stepped in to help
he sent one running after receving a goot working over then called for the next one to step in who managed a lucky one
didnt take a step back though and asked if that was all he got
---- second pretender/contender then turned his back hed had his lucky punch and was time to quite while he was ahead....
a bit of abuse was exchanged then Buck roo went off to shag his does and brag to his mates

In all honesty nothings happened here outside of the roos natural instincts
they naturally are able to defend against dogs/dingoes and bucks practice stand up fights from the time thier joeys
- shaken not stirred no harm done to the roo. both dog and owner got luckier than the roo
