Depends on how much you want to spend. The ultimate is the Cable Beach Intercontinental Resort in Broome. The bar/bistro is a great place to sit and watch the camels walk along the beach at sunset. Great 4wd along cable beach. Nice bar, good rooms, separate kids and grown ups pools. Not that expensive, as far as I remember - was there 2 years ago and got special deal. Might try them.

Also check out http://www.kimberleytourism.com/broome_accom.htm There was a motel where we went to watch the "Staircase to the Moon" phenomonon at Roebuck Bay, but can't remember the name. The above website might help.

Thank you very much Lynn2 and I think I better use a spell checker next time. After posting the question I talked to a friend, who knew a of friend of a friend, who recommended the Courthouse B&B and I managed to get the last room available. So, thank you again.

I stayed at the roebuck hotel. they have a joining Motel which has locked gate access and the rooms were great. The only drawback was there was no secure parking but we had no trouble. The hotel is right on the china town strip and makes for good shopping. two minutes drive to 4wd on cable beach.

Mike

can definately recommend Seashells Resort. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the surrounds are nice (not sure if its in your price range). Its all self contained accomodation though, but excellent feeding/watering holes are within walking distance, or if you dont mind a short drive, there are plenty of places in town. Was up there December last year for a week. Can definately recommend Matso's Brewery (can sample the local ale).

cheers,
Sam.

We stayed at the Palms Resort. We got a villa with 3 bedrooms that slept six of us. Great pool etc. $150 per night (divided by 6 is sfa)
