Just finished a remake of a video taken on our expedition into the Great Sandy Desert in search of Dragon Tree and Elizabeth Soaks. I've actually broken those days of the trip it into two separate videos and they are now in hi-def.

I must admit it was a bit of fun going back through the old clips as I had forgotten just how arduous that cross country travel was. Cut lines are a great reference point but a mongrel of a thing to try and follow after 30 years of being absorbed back into the desert. It remains some of the hardest country our group has crossed as the last half of 'Yajula' will attest .

Anyway for anyone wondering what a desert oasis "Australian style" looks like, enjoy.

Great Videos Mick. How were the trailers you were towing set up, were they specifically built or modified for the trip?

Purpose built for the quads. Johns was based on his Ulti while Scott and I made ours prior to our 2008 expedition. Mines been rebuilt a bit since. Basic but solid units.

Cheers Mick

Thanks for sharing Mick, great place isn't it.
I recall when I was there, way back, looking at the geological map and spotted the image below on the border - if I read it correctly it shows the geology of Dragon Tree soak area.

Thanks Mick.

Wouldn't want to be there this weekend, Cyclone Kelvin will be giving it a big drink by the look of things.

Cheers
