Peter, I've called into
Alice Springs Airport after 6:00PM in the afternoon, and you'd think the place is a morgue.
It is utterly and totally deserted, with not a soul around.
It's a hive of activity during aircraft arrival and departure times, but at other times, all the employees just lock the terminal up, and bolt for
home or the pub.
The terminal basically only operates during daylight hours, approximately 7:00AM to about 5:30PM.
It would be the last place I would leave a vehicle in
Alice Springs. I reckon you'd risk finding it trashed and burnt, after the first couple of nights unattended.
In addition, the Airport Long Term Car
Parking area restrictions, state no trailers, caravans or campers, or any vehicle higher than 2.3M can be parked in that area.
Vehicles with caravans, campers or trailers are obliged to utilise a part of the Short Term
Parking area, set aside for that purpose - at $22 a day!
You need a secure, locked, chain mesh-enclosed compound, or preferably a shed, with a caretaker on duty at all times, or comprehensive video/camera coverage.
I would suggest calling one of the self-storage facilities in
Alice Springs and asking what they have available.
Cheers, Ron.

Or phone the
