Is this road customarily closed during winter? Just wondering about a
Plan B. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

As far as I know, this road is not normally closed during winter. Be aware that following strong wins, thee could be trees down across the road. Most (all) of this road is
well below the snowline, although you can get snow falls at any time of the year. The Benamra to Seldom Seen road (
Limestone road) is not cleared and may be closed during winter.

Hi
John, we lived and worked in that area for nearly 20 years and never had any trouble with closures except for bushfires. If snow is going to affect anywhere it would probably be the
Bombala end is my guess.
Enjoy, its great country.

Just be aware that the west side descent to the
bridge is about 11 kms of quite narrow road cut into the slope. There are a few spots for passing. You wouldn't want to have to back up if you were towing.
Put out a call on Ch 40 before starting.
The view down the
Snowy River valley is first class.
