Quote from a group im in. Posted a few days ago. ."We completed the
Madigan line last Tuesday. No water between
Old Andado and
Annandale Ruins. Track firm with easy crossings of sand ridges from W to E".

Yes, completed it on Wednesday W-E. It is getting chopped up as expected with more use. No issues, but if going E-W you will have steeper more destroyed dunes. Flies were a pain. Take fly nets unless a cold spell knocks them off. Sand firmer in mornings until the day heated up. Water in Eringa and a bit in
Annandale but rest is dry.

G'day.
Excellent news on the track conditions.
Could anyone give me an idea of the fuel used ? If I go on my fuel consumption
( Td 4.2 turbo Patrol ) across the Waa line last year I'll use about 210 litres. I was thinking of taking 250 litres. Is that enough ? I don"t want to overload.
Cheers
Steve

In a 2015 V8 LC s/c Ute with alloy canopy, Mt Dare-
Birdsville:
2016, 2 adults, and south on
Hay R track from
Camp 16, then East on QAA Line=129L
2017, driver only, and doing Camps 17-22 & East on QAA from Eyre Ck= 117L
I found the Madigan much smoother in 2017, though western dune approaches were as rough as buggery. Easy to cruise along often in 3rd(H4). Too many travellers not using their pressure gauges............if they even have one?

I was talking to some travellers in
Birdsville yesterday morning - had just come along
Madigan Line and said conditions were good.
We had just finished a lower Simpson Trip and I have never seen the sand firmer. Every dune was easy.
