Historic Rail siding on the Transcontinental rail line linking Sydney with Perth. The Indian Pacific train stops here on its journey across Australia. You may be lucky enough to meet it?

We arrived at Rawlinna after dark on our 5 week plus trip through WA, and the railway station was lit up like there was a train coming. A goods train was stopped on a side track and blocked our travel further up the Connie Sue.

A lovely young lady was in charge of proceedings, when the Indian-Pacific stopped for about an hour. Passengers de-trained, and were treated to entertainment, as well as drinks ‘n nibbles. Apparently in warmer weather they have the evening meal at the trestle tables set up at the station. The station is in excellent condition, and kept very tidy.

And there’s good phone service too!

They do indeed, Bob. We did the I-P back in Nov 2017 and that is a "feature" on the westbound service. Full barbeque meal (cooked up on the train before stopping of course). Quite a refreshing break.

Here's a great early fiction kids film based at Cook.
Looks like a great cave, not sure where it is.

Cheers
