Can anybody advise of a good campsite between Broome and Port Hedland
other than 80 mile Beach.

How far out of the way do you want to go? The De Grey River at Muccanoo Pool was quite nice.

Thanks Pete. De Grey is a nice spot but too close to Hedland. Trying to split the journey roughly in half.

I enjoyed Barn Hill. Bit like 80 Mile only different. Their home made bread is to die for!!!!.
If you don't have to go into Port Headland cut down to Newman via the Boreline Road to Marble Bar, Carawine Gorge, Nullagine via the Skull Springs Rd and into Newman from there. Plenty of camping opportunities along that route and you save a stack of K's and very few trucks and the hills are nowhere near as steep or long. Scenery is damned nice to boot.

cheers

Thanks Dunc. Barn Hill too close to Broome, wanting to get a bit further South. Done Nullagine, Carawine etc. Beautiful bit of country.

Ralph you just may have to bite the bullet and head into 80 mile. Obviously not your first choice but the only other options involve squeezing into the 'free' camps like De Grey with a hundred others and enjoy the generator noise all night. There's simply not a lot there for people along the route with most of it adequately fenced.

Alternately turn right and head down the WAPET for 5 km to try and find somewhere to pull off and camp but to my mind you could do a lot worse than 80 Mile.

Cheers, Mick.

Thanks Mick,
Will do 80 mile tonight. De Grey definitely not on the radar these days. Going to try Indee tomorrow night.

What's at Cape Keraudren these days?
Stopped there a few years ago and it was fabulous.

Nice spot but no water. Used to be self contained but now have toilets.
