Hi all. Can anyone advise please what the
Gawler Ranges Rd is like from
Wirrulla to
Iron Knob.
Three vehicles all 4WD towing vans, two fully off road and one standard Jayco. Have no problems with the off road vans but we need a bit more info in order to take the Jayco through.
Will be travelling through in the next 4 weeks.
Thanks.

Hello there
We went from
Wirrulla to
Iron Knob , about 10 months ago, and had a great trip ...... I assume you are talking about the northern part of the
Gawler Ranges. The only area which wasn't good road was the eastern part , bit corrugated, but not really bad. With tyres a bit soft and taking it easy, you should be just fine.
There are some comments on this website , and also trek notes for this trip, which we used. All great.
Cheers
Jim

Thanks Jim. Tried looking up Trek notes earlier today and kept getting error messages. Likewise with reviewing an old thread on the
Gawler NP.
Reported it to Exploreoz and now all ok. Just reviewed the treknotes and all the comments. Looks ok providing it's not wet.
Thanks for your input.

That's good. I'm sure you will enjoy all the wildlife.
There's also a great little place for an overnight, and some walks......

It's private, but you can drive in to the
campground, not the
homestead, and enjoy peace and quiet and nature ( with a basic long drop), no water. Some great scenery, good walks, and the owners will come down and find you and make sure you have paid in the self-serve envelopes.
Probably good to phone ahead if you can.
Well worth the visit.
Cheers
