I'm sure someone will know
Planning to do more of WA May - July and would like to know if you can travel from Menzies directly to Sandstone via Bulga Downs or alternatively just go viaLeonora and Leinster.

Tow an O/R van

Thanks in advance
Ed

Can be a challenge in winter too. Minus 2 at Lake Ballard one night last May. Brrrrr.

But sunrise from the swag was worth it.

We went out to Lake Ballard in 2016 and it was a gravel road, has it been sealed since then?

Fair bit of the road between Menzies and Lake Ballard is sealed now. Rest good dirt.

Cheers

Ex as in former pastoral lease of that name. Now nature reserve.

Fairly common in WA where quite a few leases have been surrendered or bought by the government to create new reserves.

Cheers.

Cheers Rocco. Have spent the last 10 odd years wandering around that area.
Only ever used Topo or geo maps. It will be interesting to see what the prospecting rules are as opposed to crown land with DPaW involved.

Surprised you have never come across it before David. I first visited Goongarrie, where there is a nice camp at the old homestead, back in 2008. It was a reserve of some sort then.

Cheers.

Most of the roads in the Goldfields are fine with the only issue is if they are wet, then they become an ice rink. We did Menzies to Sandstone Rd last year at night so I didn't see much of the landscape but the road didn't present any problems.
