John,
Not Farina, you are getting closer, the volunteers are doing excellent work there.
A clue, it's near a hotel. Another photo in the area

We looked all over that area, but did not see that?

Where exactly is that, up in the mine site?

Ok all, Stephen has it the Waukaringa Gold Field.
That stone work was at the top of the hill where the stack is.
There was another collapsed mine shaft near it.
There are 2 cemeteries at Waukaringa, the Catholic Cemetery 900 meters north east of the hotel ( stephens photo) and Cemetery No 3973 which is 1.5 km west of the hotel. ( we did not visit that one).

We camped with this as our backdrop.

We have been told there were 3 cemeteries, but only found the two.

The second cemetery in my above photo is the one about 3km from the mine site, right on the boundary of the Waukaringa Common

From our camp looking back

Geoff,
Not Beltana bakery. Try mining.
And look at
What3words App
It locates the place within metres.

I am still wondering what the original photo represents. I gather by the follow ups, that it is an entrance to a mine shaft?

Is that correct or is it something else?

Cheers,

Mike
