Hi all. Just a 'heads up' - for WA desert travellers.
Restricted level of access through Ngaanyatjarraku lands is now possible. I have just received a permit for travel on the Anne Beadell from
Neale Junction to
Laverton, but was refused a permit for the Old
Warburton Road.
Cheers.

Sorry to tell you this but the reason for some of the birds you now search for are harder to find, is probably cause when I was at kid & we lived like nomads all over OZ & whilst living in
Rawlinna &
Cook every kid use to trap birds & sell to museums in
Perth &
Sydney & sometimes we could earn more $ than our dads in a week. The train would stop (I think twice a week) & we could load our catch. The museums would supply us cages & feed, later I found out most got taxidermy & sent all over. My uncle who got an apprenticeship in 1948 as a taxidermist at the
Sydney Museum was sent many & later he & his wife went on to be conservationist & started the reptile association of Aust & photographed & wrote many books & articles on reptiles & birds mainly in Australia & New Guinea
Hope you find & photograph more than you expect to good luck
