Does anyone know when the road from Cameron Corner to Merty Merty will be opened? Or are there other ways to get to Innamincka from the Corner?

Mike

Use the Bollard lagoon/Bore track. You pay $10 at the homestead which is just near the junction with the main road. Nice run north up to the main road into Innamincka from Qld.

Thats a lovely con that Bore Track. You pay $10 to drive on 15km of the station track. The rest of the track lies in the Innamincka Reserve. This I found out when I drove from Innamincka to Bollards Lagoon last month. Anyway it was a good easy run and enjoyable.

I agree Banjo. We are leaving on Friday so it *&^%$ better be open or the convoy of **&^%# soft roaders behind me may not be going on the trip.
The Transport Sa site as you say, said the road is open from the Cornor to Merty and on to Innamincka.

You can always go up thru Warri Gate from Tibooburra - little bit rougher but scenic. Anyway call NSW National Parks at Tibooburra they will have all the up to date info from all the locals, RTA, Police and tourists who have just come thru - they hear about road conditions as a matter of general talk at the pub etc. Will know all track conditions right up to Innaminka and beyond.

Mike & Vince

Don't know about the Cameron to Merty track but we came the Old Strezlecki track last last week. Graded and fast from Innamincka to the Moomba Road (east-west part) but very slow from there down to Merty. Water is lying across maybe 30% of the length of the track but there are many well worn drive arounds which are all dry. Country is fantastic and green if you have time and should still be OK for soft roaders although they will be lifting their wheels plenty as you drive up the embankments onto the side tracks. Alternative is to continue past Merty and up the Moomba Road to the top part of the Old Strezleckli.

Flies weren't too bad at Innaminka, even better at Cullyamurra but absolutely shocking at the Dig Tree.

Have fun.

Just a suggestion, leave Camerons corner, travel into QLD and head to Innamincka via Omicron H.S. to Epsilon H.s.and via Dullingari gas field (S.A.) to the Bore Track.
Alternatively head down the Dullingari to Della Rd and turn of at Dillons HWY to InnaminckA. $10 is a rip off for a short trip on a P.A. track. But i am biased as I work in the area.

Enjoy and safe journey.
