Hi, I'm new to this site but have found it extremely useful in preparing a trip to
Flinders Ranges and
Strzelecki Track in Sept. Just wanted to know if anyone has stayed in the cottages at Angorichina Village and if so any
feedback on both the cottages and location. We're travelling with two kids (6 and 7) and are thinking this might be a good base for about a week to see the Ranges. We will then be heading up to Arkaroola to stay for a couple of nights before tackling the Strzelecki.
Any local knowledge would be much appreciated. Thanks for a great
forum BTW!!

Have a sticky beak at:

& look in files for database, then
places to go.
I reckon that Angorichina would be an ideal base as from there you can easily do day trips to:
Aroona dam,
Leigh Creek,
copley[north]
Beltana,
Sliding Rock, Waraweena [north]
hawker &
Quorn[south]
brachina & bunyeroo valleys[south]
Wilpena Pound & Aroona Valley[south]
Blinman & Mt Chambers[east]
You can also choose an eastern route, or a western route for the easy day drive to Arkaroola.
The bible for the region is "Explore the Flinders Ranges" published by the Royal geographical Society of S.A. It is the best interpretive guide due to its history, geology, walking, hiking, flora, fauna, drive based touring, settlements, mining, etc, information
Cheers
