Hi Carol
As with all dirt roads the conditions can change but we did that road in 2019 from
the Dig Tree past
Haddon Corner. The first maybe 50km from
the Dig Tree to the
Cook Oil Field turn off was quite rocky, rough and slow going. From there through to where the Cordillo Road joins was narrower and a bit sandy but much smoother. From there you could turn left and go past
Cordillo Downs to
Birdsville or up past
Haddon Corner and onto the
Birdsville Rd. This last part was similar to the
Birdsville Rd. It's all a very nice drive. I think you would have drive carefully if you thought your van wasn't up to it.
cheers

Hi Carole,
If you choose Arrabury Rd and go all the way past
Haddon Corner, to the
Birdsville Development Road, just be carefully with the dry creek crossings. Depending on when the road was last graded, some of them are deep with a decent drop into them.
Macca.

G'day Carol, hopefully someone can give you up to date info, it was too long ago I went through those roads, heck Adventure Way /
Innamincka Rd was still unsealed.
The dig tree road was a good station track.
If Arrabury Rd has been graded it's like a highway, doesn't happen that often though.
It's a month out to the BRB, any
feedback just also watch weather until then, if it gets wet it could be interesting.
Expect you'll be driving up from
the dig tree north on the qld road (
Nappa Merrie Rd) to Arrabury Rd, I haven't done that up to Arrabury, but imagine it should be graded at times.

Thx Les. Suspect I’d be wiser to take a more travelled route.
