Do you love the beauty of the
Flinders Ranges?
Would you like to
camp in your own private
camp site knowing that your newest neighbour is at least 3 kilometres away?
Well this is one location that I bet most of you have never heard of before.
The link below will take you to my latest Blog and I hope I can temp many of you to
check out this great location.
Horseshoe Top End is the perfect place to witness stunning scenery and a coupe of great four wheel drives away from the crowds.

Looks like a great spot Stephen. I seem to remember the
gate to nowhere/somewhere/everywhere photo of yours in a 'where is this' thread some time ago.
So many
places to go, so many things to see.
Thanks Stephen
Cheers
Batsy

It’s a brilliant place and we came across it by chance last year.
It would be interesting to see if interstate travellers have ever heard of it.

Hi, Stephen.
Thanks for posting - beautiful place!!
We are traveling from QLD and hoping to get thru NT to SA. If we manage to get thru the borders ( I hope!) - we will definitely visit the
Flinders Ranges. But we are towing a caravan. So, probably, wouldn't be able to get to that place?

Good dirt road all the way into
Horseshoe Top End and any standard car would be fine.
You only need a four wheel drive to do the ridgetop tracks.

Hi
John
Even as a South Aussie, I was not aware of it until last year unfortunately.
It is a real little gem and you will love it and we are going back there again real soon, this time spending more time there.
Enjoy you trip there when you do get there.

Have just returned from
Horseshoe Top End Monday after a few days camping at the "School Yard"
camp site. The panoramic view from "Long View"
lookout is fantastic.
Lots of Kangaroos and Euros in the area to "treat" kiddies and adults alike and we came across a Mob of Emus on the way out.
Each
camp site has very clean and tidy dry composting
toilets and fire pits to help keep the cold at bay, this time of the year. Firewood is very reasonably priced and delivered to your
campsite on request, so there is no need to cart your own in.
Oh, and the
Carrieton Hotel (25k's back to the bitumen) has been reopened after renovations if folk desire a pub meal during their stay.
The 25 kilometre drive in from the bitumen is on
well maintained unsealed tracks so don't let a little bit of dirt keep you away from this great retreat in our unique and beautiful
Flinders Ranges.
