Cape York - Hann River to Weipa 2021 4K -PMK3AUSTRALIA

G'Day All
For the past month we have been up in Cape York Far North QLD on a trip. So far it's been a fantastic trip & we still have a week in Seisia before we even start moving back down.
This is a video taken early in our trip from a few weeks back while we were on our way up.
Leaving Cooktown, we headed towards Lakefield NP along Battlecamp rd visiting Isabella Falls, The Normanby River & Old Laura Historical Site.
We then took the Lakefield Rd down to Laura & the Peninsula Development Rd.
Hann River was our next stop for the night.
Morning saw us travelling through to Musgrave & on to Coen for our next two nights. A day trip out to Port Stewart while we were staying at Coen was a great day.
Leaving Coen & on to Archer River for a lunch stop & then on to Weipa for the next five days.
Hope you enjoy - This is just the start
Paul.

Thanks Tony

I couldn't find a name at the crossing & wasn't sure on the map either. Don't like to comment and give the wrong information if I don't know.

Appreciate the info

Cheers
Paul

That's no worries fella, if you need any more info, I've been up 47 times since 1987, so I should be able to help out

Hey Tony

Do you know if the Fish Camp Police Ruins exist?
Once again no sign except the one at Fish Camp that mentions it.
We couldn't find anything & we drove all over that area. There was also nothing on the map we had.
Cheers
Paul

Hi Tony

The Police Camp Ruins was mentioned on a notice board at Fish Camp Lagoon 2 under Historical Connections. I Have attached a pic below.

This was near Point Stewart on the Stewart River

Was just wondering if there was anything left to see of the Police Camp mentioned on the sign. We looked around but couldn't find any.

According to a ANU paper published a few years, it states there are sign's of looting/ souvenir taking, and many of the NMA sites were constructed of bush timbers which mother nature (termites) have taken care of, which will probably be the reason you had trouble finding anything
