Want to do it with the body of the motor in a milk crate with the front of the motor on top ( ie the location of the pull start ) with the back of the motor at the bottom of the milk crate and with the prop next to the floor of our campervan.

I think that this Transport method is mentioned below I just want to conform that I had interpreted it correctly.

You will have no issues carrying it as described. Its not a 4 stroke so you will have no problems with oil seeping into cylinders etc. Just ensure the tank is empty when you store it in the car/van

re (Insuring that the spark plugs are at the top in my bad experience)
Was this for a 2 stroke

As my comment above/below will have the spark plug on the bottom next to the floor

Keep the power head higher than the prop (assuming a 3.3 hp is water cooled) and all is ok for a 2 stroke motor.

re (Yes 6ph yamaha 2 stroke, had a big problem w oil up .)

So does the oil in the prop gear box seep into the combustion chamber if the combustion chamber/spark plug is not higher than the lower leg prop gear box.

GBC : not sure where the oil came from .
but it sure did give us some problems for about 2 hours running the engine stalling drying out the plug again and again till we managed to get it running sweet again . This was pre box carrier and just had the motor sitting in the back of ute with plugs down since making the box and having the plugs up have not experienced the same issue but will take note of the angle of the motor next time for sure , it's not an old engine but not new either cheers .

Just a quick note for replying to comments if the comments and replies are not attached to the same one you may not get a notification of the reply .cheers again

Don't forget. Outboards have NO AIR FILTER! Block the inlet securely with a clean rag if it is going to be exposed to dust.
Now is the only time you own
Decide now what you will,
Place faith not in tomorrow
For the clock may then be still
