A while ago this was a bit of fun on the
forum. Run on Mondays, it replaced Friday Funnies where it seemed Google disapproved of the inevitably raunchy Aussie humour and threatened to withdraw advertising from EO. This despite the fact that Google will deliver as much porn as you care to search for .... but I digress.
Seeing as it's close to Friday let's give this game another run.
Rules are simple. The game runs only on one day, Friday. The winner - the person who gets it right - has to post a new photo challenge in a reply or follow-up and we keep doing that until it's not Friday any more. It's a bit of a brag fest - be as obscure or as obvious as you like, as long as you've been there, so show us your travels.
Here's one to get started - two hours early by my clock.
This is a
police station and courthouse in a historic village. Where is it?

Maybe a clue is needed?
In days gone by the town had a rich but short lived
mine yielding silver, lead and a bit of gold.
Here's the old store:

With that hint I know where it is... but I don't want to have to come up with next weeks one so I'll let someone else answer.

Thanks Peter,
Maybe I wasn't very clear with the instructions. If you win this one, post a new challenge to keep todays thread going for as long as people are interested. And so on. Game stops overnight. Anyone can start a new game next Friday.
So get today's next challenge ready to post!

Frank, I am pleased to see the return of "Friday's Where Am I?"
It just seemed to disappear and I thought maybe it had offended some rule!

Thanks Allan. Being
well travelled, you must surely have some challenges for us.
Cheers

Ahh, I dunno Frank. Roz is the photographer in our house. Creates a photo-book after most
treks.
I was keen in earlier times, even had my own darkroom, but tired of lugging a heavy Nikon around and left it to Roz with her iPhone. Amazing what she achieves with that.
But I'll see what I can come up with.

I think it may be Yerranderie NSW.
Camped in the "Government Town Campground" in 2009

Spot on, kgarn,
well done.
We still have 6 or 8 hours of Friday left, depending where you live. Care to post a new puzzle?
Cheers

I might have a
home advantage here so I'll wait a while.
Is it not far as the crow flies from
Newnes?

Yes, in that general area, but not
Newnes itself.

campground?

Would it be
Glen Davis - the National Park
campground, not the town one?

Ok, there's still a bit of Friday left, so here's another one, a bit more obscure than my last, I think. I've scrubbed out the distances on the signs so you can't do a simple cheat with triangulation, but the signs should give you a general idea.
Where am I?
