Hi all - explored a chunk of Australia a few years ago in a Troopy HZJ78and would like to import one into the UK to continue exploring Europe in similar style...... To do so I need to know the emissions specs of the engine so that I can
check it will pass the Individual vehicle approval (IVA) criteria. Does anyone have them? I know they will vary from engine to engine but values you have or have been quoted would be great. CO2 levels and particulates would be ideal.
many thanks.
eta: in particular of even more importance is a measurement of smoke opacity - are there any figures on this?

thanks both.
Read the l8mud one in my research but it doesn't really help as it's inconclusive.
However, have now found that the UK emissions are based on smoke emitted from the engine: the
test is as follows
* on a warm engine
* depress throttle continuously to full power over ~1s (not violently)
* release as soon as signal from analyser given (a second or two)
Smoke particle levels must be = July 2008 it's 1.5/m and before July'08 it's 2.5/m (3.0 for turbo engines).

The 1HZ is a ‘dirty’ old spec engine with mechanical fuel pump. Can’t help with specs but it was discontinued in Oz a long time ago. Don’t like your chances.

thanks to all.
Appears from other research and replies elsewhere that the VDJ sails through the
test and the 1HZ will pass it once really, really warm, so both are an option.
thanks for the help.
