Not looking so good for Port Hedland and surrounds ....... Cat 4 cyclone.

Now predicted to be Cat 5 when it crosses the coast around 11 pm tonght & to remain at cyclone intensity (cat 2) all the way to Kiwirkurra!

Looks like Pardoo Roadhouse has copped it quite badly.

"The Pardoo Roadhouse is a Pilbara institution which provides accommodation and meals for travellers, FIFO workers and the nearby Pardoo Station. It has reportedly endured about $4m of damage.

Images from the family run business seen by The Australian on Friday show the roof completely ripped off. The kitchen and service area are covered in twisted steel.

Staff housing and some of the motel rooms at the roadhouse – located about 1600km north of Perth – have been destroyed."

I feel for the family who owns it.
