Coxs River Camping - access?

Yes, it goes through the Megalong Valley. I also suggest you stay clear of that area and down towards the Jenolan Caves until things dry out a lot in the area. The road to Jenolan Caves has been out of action as a result of slippages following heavy rain for quite some time. The road into Megalong Valley was cut off following a land slip after the rain on Friday - see Hundreds still cut-off at Megalong Valley (scroll down to that heading.)

What are you searching for on Google Maps? When I search for "Coxs River, Ganbenang NSW 2790" it goes to the place I remember the campsite at on the western side of the river.

You don't get there via Megalong Valley so you must have the wrong spot - you turn off at Little Hartley, just past the Lolly Bug store if you're coming from Sydney.

As was said earlier, you turn off at the lolly bug into Cox's River Rd. Follow that and fork left into Cullenbenbong Rd and go past Kanimbla Community Hall. You go up a hill and you're confronted with what seems like a dead end and 3 gates. The middle gate says 6 foot track with an arrow or something similar. You used to have to go through about 3 gates to get to that spot but the last time I went the road was smoother and the gates were all open. Follow that down until it hits the actual 6 foot track and turn left. There's another gate there. Follow that down to the campground. Take the walk to Bowtell's Swing Bridge about a kilometre or 2. Drive out along the full 6 foot track and hit the Jenolan Caves Rd a way past Hampton and the Oberon turn off. Watch out if it's been raining because you cross quite a few creeks.
