G'day all
I'm getting married at the end of February and have planned the first part of the honeymoon - 2 weeks in the Gold Coast and Hamilton Island. This is "her" part of the honeymoon and now I'm planning "his" part.
I'm in adelaide and want to do a 1-2 week trip bush when we get back from Qld. We have done Robe & South East, Yorke Pen, Flinders.
What would be a good trip for a couple to go bush for this amount of time? ie We won't have anyone else with us so don't want it too hardcore.
I had thought of Eyre pen or Flinders again or maybe a bit further north as the highest I have been is Marree.
Just after some suggestions.
Cheers
Brad

G'day Spook, I'd be looking for somewhere coastal at that time of the year. Inland will be far to hot in Feb/March and you will have consumation obligations to fulfill and 40+ degrees can make the task onerus. Not only that, but with persiration build up, the work bench could become too slippery and you might have an accident.
Pt Lincoln does have some great spots and the weather would be perfect for you.
Good luck with the wedding. If you need any help, Roachie gets to that neck of the woods regularly and he may be able to offer some help. He did help me out earlier so he will do it for anyone. LOL

LOL... Fair comment,
Just a warning to anyone who sees a swag making some funny shapes and sounds not to be too concerned... she always does that when she's sleeping.
Thanks, I'll look into Pt Lincoln

Bloody hell Des, you trying to get me into trouble or what??? (Please note I'm pretty bloody good at this particular passtime already.....getting into trouble, that is....not helping another bloke to consumate his wedding).
Spook, I reckon Pt Lincoln (Coffin Bay etc) or the west coast would be the go for sure at that time of the year. Far too bloody hot away from the coast.
As for slipping around on the work bench, isn't that all part of the fun of getting to know each other???? Not that I can remember what is was like all those years ago, of course.
I'm always glad to offer my strap (ie: snatch, winch extension or jock) to anybody in need.......so just let me know if you're ever stuck up this way (Northern YP).

Cheers Roachie, thanks for offering your strap I don't know about the latter but the first 2 may come in handy at some point unless they are just your special names for them ("winch extention.....") but I'm going to leave that one alone.
I'll be sure to pack some spare "tree trunk protectors" as well. LOL

Cheers

Geez Des....you still remember those things.......t'was a bloody long time ago in your case...hahahaha

Roachie...what can I say? You are up to your old tricks again, eh?

Spook...on a serious note...there is a lovely isolated camping place at Lipsom Cove on the Eyre Penin between Port Neill and Tumby Bay. No facilities except a long drop.

Gotta go back to the Flinders this minute or SWMBO will have me guts. Bye.......

Why not South Western Victoria Spook? No hardcore and beautiful scenery only 6-7 hours from Adelaide. Muddy 'doe suggestes no speeding as you offend a few who like to just hold up traffic........

Thanks John
I'm still doing some research of that area, I've heard Lower Glenelg NP and surrounds are really nice. Would be nice and cool there that time of year i imagine.
There's no chance of speeding in a Suzuki she just about comes to a stop when a truck comes the other way. :)
cheers

Spook assuming you don't require Roachies help, there is the Shipwreck Coast and The Great Ocean Road or the Otways Forest to prepare your timbers and get everything your end ship shape. I'd be careful of his straps too. Plenty of Suzes this way over summer and a little cooler than the Flinders or beyond......

Getting married, and he thinks he will be allowed out? LOL...

Grab some maps, look at areas within few 100 klms.. Do you want to drive lots or just relax and ..... um.... make the most of it before kids come along...?

If you dont mind driving you could do up to Birdsville, ayres rock etc and back home.

What do you mean?? I would much rather to be at home with my beloved watching better homes & Gardens than on a fishing trip (just in case she see's this message).

Well for my sake I hope there's not too much "relaxing" going on...
