Follow up to Thread 140322: In 2020 the boreline road was fine but I travelled it in August last year (2024) and it was in a poor state. It's my preferred short cut and I wondered if anyone has travelled it recently. Any input appreciated.

Nice bit of country. Shay Gap and the south end of the Boreline Road is on Yarrie Station. Margaret and I worked on Yarrie for a couple of months some years back.
Give the station a call. Those in the know might be out and about but someone at the homestead might be able to help. Alternatively, try Muccan.
They have had a heap of rain in recent months.
Cheers,
Peter

ps........ the Muccan station homestead is not where it is shown on most maps.
The old homestead used to be on the west side of the Muccan-Shay Gap road, but that was bulldosed about 20 years ago. Muccan and Yarrie had been operated as a single property for many years.
More recently, the 2 properties have been operated by the next generation of the Coppin family and a new Muccan homestead (and out buildings) has been built on the east side about 1km from the road, between the cattle yards and the river.
Muccan also has a new air strip further south and on the west side of the road which causes some additional confusion.
Look at Google maps sat view for better info.
Cheers,
Peter
