Thanks Savvas, we sure did have a good time,

the kids were great....they had a dvd in car, which kept them entertained and quiet [headphones each so parents could listen to music] they also had some of their cds, books, pencils, toys, and of course looking out the window asking questions...one of the funniest things I remember was...when getting closer to Coober Pedy, the kids were watching Monsters Inc, Tegan looked up and suddenly noticed the landscape and simply said "mummy, what happened !"...Monsters Inc was forgotten about for the rest of the journey and replaced with, "can we go underground too".....

cheers

Which DVD player do you have, Lyn? We are looking at getting one soon, and would like to know what ones are worth the $.
Thanks
John

Hi John, we have a sound4 unit we got from Repco, it has a 5" screen, which seems tiny, but honestly the picture quality is fantastic...this unit is also a TV as well, we also got another little device which allows you to tune the unit into the radio which gives you surround sound. Al has rigged our unit up to be as portable as possible which meant it went out of the car and into the van so the kids got to watch some dvd's at night [and so did we...] the unit runs on 12volt/240volt power and has headphone jacks on both sides, the cost was approx $500.00, and it was well worth it, it performed amazingly given some of the bumps we went over. The actual player was in front of me in a bracket Al made and it flexed which I guess is why it didn't miss a beat.

cheers

Magnificent pics. How did you narrow it down to only 5 pages to post on the web? Must have had 300-400 pics to choose from, if you were as snap-happy as we are when we travel.
Looks like you had a great time away.
Cheers

It wasn't easy John, Al took about 150 photos at Uluru alone....so I just had to make a selection....

HI Steve,

not sure what photo it is, but if I'm sitting on a rock with the kids on my lap then it's at Nourlangie Rock in Kakadu, if it's the one with the waterfall behind us it's at Tolmer Falls Litchfield Nat. Park.

cheers
