Hi everyone!
I have just installed TX3200 UHF in combination with benelec ground independant elevated feed 3/6 dB anteanna. Rx is great but Tx signal seems to be too weak! Apparently 477MHz antannas are suposed to be pretuned so I soulhdn't worry about SWR. I already checked that antenna connection is not shorted. Does anyone have any suggestions what I should look into? Or even better can you recommend a place in SE
Melbourne where I can get this checked out by professionals and as
well do SWR tuning for my AM radio.
Thanx
Dragan

Dragan,
If its not too far away from you, I have found Time Plus Communications in Brunswick very good, just down from Optus Oval on
Sydney Rd. Give them a call

Check the aerial cable for leakage as I had a new one with a faulty cable, took a while to work that out, rewired it and worked like a charm, and a good tec will be able to tweek the radio as
well.

I have had a similar problem with my TX3200, recently. It wasn't new and had seen a lot of vibration from corragations etc. When it was checked out, a number of dry joints were detected, which caused the transmission frequency to drift and a subsequent apparent weakening of transmission strength. A little bit of soldering and tuning had it working better than ever.

Is transmission weak in all directions ? may be propogation is directional depending where antenna is mounted . Also some higain antennas are no good on short distances but shine when over bigger distances. Or could be something with the radio as you suspected.
good luck.
