I would love to but will be somewhere up around the Karumba on the gulf then maybe the next one .I think we (nsw) people are falling behind those southeners in these EO get-togethers.

G,day Athol,
Was great to get down to Illawarra again after so many years, has completely changed, was great to catch up with you, pity it wasnt the day before, could of had a few beer's. Sold my Hilux and am now a Patrol owner (GQ), no more dust and water in the camping gear. Windang Caravan Park was too confined for me, so wont be going there again. Next time im down that way, might try some tracks up the mountain like you said, catch you next time... Paul (paul2.8d)

Yes could be tempted, was down there at Easter, great place.

Still a bit cool then but all that is needed is more wood, and a tray back to carry it.

If I lived over there I'd be in it, I lived for 20+yrs in ACT, and enjoyed many countless hourd/days down on the South Coast. I've been living in WA since 1980 and still miss that area of NSW and the Brindabellas. Godd luck with the get together.

Baz,

First weekend in Sept would work for me too, too short a notice is a problem around here. Anyhow, who could not get a leave pass on that weekend, it's fathers' day!

It will be bloody cold though but I have the ute for the wood, and can pack extra supplies of port.

I think it's a go for the 14,15/8 for a look, i haven't been there either so should be good, then a another date for a second one to give others time to prepare and for people from other states who would like to come. Also this is a family thing, if you want a non family weekend that could be another get together. If anyone knows the area well and would like to come please let us know.

Baz.

Hi Baz,

Whether it's a family or non-family weekend doesn't bother us we just like getting out and about. We are kid friendly even though we don't have any tackers of our own.

I would like to go for a looksy the 14/15 as we are heading off in September for a 4 week journey to the Flinders and surrounds, so may not be around for the formal gathering.

Cheers

We have a property at Braidwood which is on the way. This time of the year Bendethera will be very cold. Expect temperatures of -5C and lower overnight. Great spot but I love my private parts.

Sorry Baz,
Of course you're already a member - was I asleep at 11pm when I posted that or something? Obviously I couldn't see the button at the bottom of your post that says SEND MEMBER MESSAGE which regardless of the person's screen name saying Member - Name or not, this shows the person is a member as only members get the Member Message option automatically setup. Oh well, if I made the mistake then others may have too, so this shows others what they should be lookinng for to know if someone is a Member. My boo boo - big sorry.

On the baby front - "Gran" is here (visiting from Syd) to help me with the kids so I can mind the business. Chardae is now 3mths old, which I think is scary as it feels like a few weeks only, that goes to show you how quickly how adult lives must fly by.

We will probably bring our van as well. Will be coming in from Moruya. Can we agree on a radio channel, say UHF18?

UHF 18 is good, what time will you be getting to Moruya, could be a good meeting place for people with vans and campers and the ones without may want to come in from the eastern side.

We'll probably stay with friends in Moruya on Friday night so early (or not so early) on Saturday is good or are you looking to get there on Friday night? I wouldn't recommend some of those tracks at night. :-(

I'm happy to meet up with others in Moruya if that works. Let me know.

As I am the 'author' of the Bendethera Trek note, I would like to attend. I haven't done the Araluen/Merricumbene track (I have mapped part - see Trek note), so I would like to 'map' and describe this section to add to the existing Trek notes.

href="http://www.exploroz.com/TrekNotes/NSW/Bendethera_Valley.asp">Bendethera Trek notes

'My' Club has done this trip a number of times - the trip last year required a lot of trees to moved off the track, so a chain saw is needed.
One member has taken a campervan out from Bendethera to the Cooma/Braidwood Rd without too much trouble.

It would be great if you could post a new message when a trip date is finalised.
Cheers
Colin
